Driving License Category C
Commercial driver's licenses are a driving license of category C. It permits drivers to drive straight buses, trucks, and combination vehicles. It also permits drivers to operate passenger vans as well as small hazardous materials (HAZMAT) vehicles.

Passenger vehicles
You require a class-C license to drive an automobile, truck, van, or rental vehicle like a Uhaul. The driver's manual for each state provides a detailed description of the vehicles that are eligible. This license is required by firefighters, emergency/rescue teams, or fire departments. It is not required in every jurisdiction. It is an ideal idea for youngsters to begin their driving career by obtaining this license, as it gives them the chance to gain valuable experience and develop their skills before reaching the age at which they can legally obtain an official license.
Before they can apply for an intermediate license, drivers who are under 18 must complete 40 hours of training and hold a learners permit for six month. They cannot drive between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. or unless they are attending an important event at school or work. The number of passengers is restricted to one person younger than the age 19 and they must only drive when an authorized driver over the age of 21 is in charge of them. These restrictions will be in place until the driver reaches 18. Alternatively, they can choose to enroll in an advanced course and obtain an E or endorsement for class H to get rid of these restrictions.
Hazardous materials
A Class C commercial driver's license permits drivers to operate vehicles that don't meet the requirements of Class A or B licenses. This license allows drivers to operate passenger vehicles that can accommodate more than 16 people, including the driver. It also allows drivers to drive vehicles that transport hazardous materials. The drivers must pass a knowledge exam and undergo specialized training to gain an endorsement on their CDL.
The H endorsement gives a trucker the ability to operate a vehicle which transports hazardous materials in placardable amounts. It only applies in the event that the quantity of material being transported is within the limit set by the DOT and the material is properly classified and labeled and the cargo and vehicle meet safety standards. Hazardous employees are required to attend specialized training in order to ensure that the proper safety precautions are taken when transporting these materials.
In addition to the H endorsement, there are a number of other endorsements that can be added to the CDL. The N endorsement permits drivers to operate tanker trucks that transport liquids which can be volatile and gasses. To be eligible for this endorsement, truckers must pass a niche knowledge test. The T endorsement allows drivers to operate double or triple trailers which require additional knowledge and skills. The X endorsement requires that truckers pass a niche knowledge test to be able to operate tanker vehicles transporting explosive materials.
A representative of the motor driver or the carrier must be present at all times when driving a motor vehicle that has Division 1.1,1.2, or1.3 materials. This applies to interstate and intrastate transport as well as to shipments and vehicles carrying hazardous materials.
The hazmat endorsement is not available for truck drivers who operate for local delivery services. To qualify for this endorsement drivers must have a minimum of two years of driving experience. They also need to be in good health and have a clean driving history and pass a physical examination. They must also take a drug test and a background check. Drivers who fail to comply with these requirements may face fines and a loss of their CDL.
Combination vehicles
